Jim Tudor- Commentary On The Day Of internet Radio Silence

A panel of CRB Judges has ruled the rate online broadcasters pay to  play songs will be increased to 8 cents per song per listener retroactively to the year 2006, and rates will increase to 19 cents per song per listener by the year 2010.  The new rates are several times higher than web-casters currently pay and will force many broadcasters off the air.  Live 365, Pandora, Media and Yahoo music are protesting the rate changes with a day of silence on back on June 26.

The number of listening choices will be severely reduced and perhaps the era of free internet radio will come to an end if legislation is not passed to over ride the ruling. Legislation to cut the new rates has been introduced in Congress.

If you enjoy internet radio in it’s present state  please take a few moments to write your congressional representative urging the passage of the bill.

If you are a non U.S. listener please take a moment to contact any of our Congressional representatives urging them to vote to reduce rates and save free internet radio. I thank you in advance for your support on this matter. If our quest is successful our listening pleasure will continue. If not very soon many stations will be permanently silenced.

Tudor's'Total Effect Talk Show on www.ubroadcast.com station 207

May 15, 2007

 Coming Soon

Tudor's'Total Effect Talk Show on

http://www.ubroadcast.com/listen.php  station 207

Tudors'Total Effect Talk show is an inspirational program that will explore a plethora of factors that contribute to the total effect you project  of yourself and your business.

The poet Robert Burns said it best " ah for the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us" Like it or not folks we are all sending a message all of the time.

It doesn't matter if you are talking on the phone, walking in the park sitting in a restaurant, dashing off an e-mail or playing a game of golf, your message is being sent.

The question is---what message do you want to send?

It is very important to remember---you do not get a second chance to make a first impression. It is also important to remember first impressions last-forever.

When people first come into contact with you it takes them less than 5 seconds to form an opinion of you. 58% of the opinion will come from your appearance.

Your clothing, your posture, your facial expression your cleanliness or slovenliness  will impress and attract or disgust and repel people long before you have even had a chance to speak to them.

Let's stop to think about this for a moment. Imagine yourself walking through the park. As you approach the spot you have chosen to sit and relax you notice two elderly gentlemen. One is a dirty unshaven shabbily dressed individual, the other a clean well dressed  well groomed man. Which one will you choose to sit nearer too? The dirty old bum or the elderly gentleman? You have never seen or spoken to either before yet you have formed an opinion and taken action based on appearance only. Perhaps the elderly gentleman is a child molester who was just released from prison and is deciding what to do next. Perhaps the dirty old bum is a retired financier who has decided he doesn't have to impress anyone because he is rich  and he has decided to just be himself ! The point is each has an image they project, each ones' appearance has an effect !

When you get close enough to speak to someone 35% of your message will be interpreted by the manner of your speech, eye contact, the pitch of your voice,  the speed, the volume and especially your  emotion. are sending messages.  Is there laughter or sadness in your voice? Is confidence or insecurity being projected?

As strange as it may seem only 7% of your message comes from the words you choose. However your choice of words is vitally important. The first thing you say will attract or repel your listener !  Positive words invite your listeners to entertain your message. Negative words, slang vulgarity and profanity will repel your listeners. When you speak be careful not to mumble, stutter or repeat yourself, these habits tell your listener you are insecure.

Your Total Effect Talk show is all about how to communicate effectively to get what you want out of  the business of life and the life of business. Wether you are talking to friends, family, business associates and or especially yourself,  effective communication is vital to your success.

n my company Tudor's Total Effect Coaching  I start with the premise that everything about you is a form of communication. The image you create of and for yourself will determine how well you communicate with others.  It is a well known fact most people do not get what they want out of life simply because they do not know what they want. Effective communication techniques empower you to identify what you want, clarify what you want and satisfy your desires.

My programs help people learn how to conduct the business of life and the life of business with a highly productive less stressful style.

On Tudors' Total Effect talk show I will be interviewing experts in many different fields. Their messages will help you create and project your desired total effect.Upcoming interviews will cover topics from A to Z . Topics will include experts on attitude and the vital role it plays in our road to success. Color, how it influences you and your associates. The topics of humor and music will also be explored. The all important topic of  etiquette and how it will enhance your total effect is on the line upas well. We will also discuss how to dress for success, disgusting habits to avoid, time management, stress management and a plethora of others.  The show is dedicated to discussing topics of interest to listeners. Listener requested topics will be added to the line up !. Please e-mail your requests to totaleffects@yahoo.com

The first guest on Tudors' Total effect talk show will be an expert who creates moods and sends messages through the universal language of music. Dave Anthony owner of Metro Cities Radio, an internet based radio station group at http://www.wrtro.com  will be joining us to share his insight on how to create and project a carefully selected image to attract your target audience.

Dave comes to us with over 27 years experience in the broadcasting industry. He is a master of his craft producing fun to listen to program mixes, news you can use and highly entertaining informative specials. Dave will share his insights  on how music affects your mood, sends messages and contributes to your total effect .

"B94" radio sound returns to Pittsburgh
The "B94" radio sound returns to Pittsburgh as " B-80's" via the internet. Now in its 6th year, Pittsburgh's MetroCities Broadcasting Communications, owner of 5 internet radio stations in Pittsburgh. MetroCities dropped its country stations format " Country Rock" ( WRCKY ) on November 28th for a 24-hour Christmas music format " Retro Christmas Radio". On December 25th at 6PM MetroCities Broadcasting ended the " Retro Christmas Radio" format for an all-new 24 hour Retro 80's format , ( WBZZW) Retro 80's & 90s (BUZZ Radio) "Plays Everything 80's & 90’s ". Dave Anthony President of MetroCities Broadcast Communications states that " The new Retro 80's & 90s BUZZ Radio format is strictly an all 80's & 90s contemporary retro format aimed to meet the needs of the listeners requesting an all 80's & 90s station, also to fill the music variety need in the Pittsburgh radio market that is missing. The goal is to continually meet the personal listening, music entertainment standards and needs that listeners have come to expect when they listen to MetroCities stations. While other stations are increasing their commercial spot loads, adding larger breaks between songs and searching for a format niche. We will be playing music and more of it on all of our MetroCities stations. What we can learn from the stars.

 By J.T Coach

Most of the stars in the music business are like shooting stars in the night sky, a flash in the night quickly burning out and disappearing.

There are a few however who are like the stars in the heavens, always there for us to enjoy. In the music business a fifty year career as a popular performing artist is an eternity

The hardest working man in show business was born in Barnwell S.C. in May of 1933.

Growing up during the tough times of The Great Depression and World War II., made James a strong young man with a burning desire to succeed.

Perhaps that is why he named his vocal group “ The Famous Flames”. The Famous flames scorched the competition with their 1956 top 10 hit “ Please, Please, Please”.

Although he was best known as “The Godfather of Soul” James Brown left his mark all across the spectrum of modern music.. James played horns and drums, sang and danced dramatically. He was loud and proud ! Hew practiced what he preached, spreading his message through his hits “ I’m Black and I’m Proud”, and “ I don’t want nobody to give me nothing”. James Brown  The Godfather of Soul has left a legacy for modern artists to follow.

James Brown affected and influenced millions of people with his music. What can we learn from James Brown’s story?

First of all – it doesn’t matter where you came from, what is important is where you are going.

Secondly –Make your niche and work hard to continually develop it.

Third—be proud of who you are, do whatever you do with enthusiasm and believe in yourself., if you do, I’m sure you will agree with The Godfather of Soul—It Feels So Good.

This is J.T Coach reminding you  “ Everything about you is a form of Communication

It's 80's Dejevu all over again !

It's 80's Dejevu all over again !

Editorial Commentary By Jim Tudor:

It’s Dejevu all over again  ! Just like the 80’s Chrysler Corporation is in dire straights. Dr. Z is following Lee trying to make Chrysler a lean mean fighting machine like Rocky Balboa in the “ Eye of the Tiger.”  Will the story play out like that of a Phoenix or be another one bites the dust? We will just have to wait and see.

One thing I can hardly wait to see is the new radio sound of (WBZZW). The new (WBZZW) will feature only 80’s music along with Trivia and time tested tips. It’s dejevu all over again as MetroCities Radio leads the way to fantastic fun with “ 80’s Buzz Radio” be sure to check it out and pass it along to everyone you know who enjoys 80’s style fun. It is at http://www.wbzzw.com

Round And Round We Go!

Editorial Commentary By Jim Tudor:

It's Deja'vu all over again as we enter the summer of 06. The United States is involved in another dirty little war. Anti war demonstrations have begun. U.S soldiers have been accused of a massacre Is this Mai Lai all over again? History repeats itself over and over again. The names of the nations and the calendar years change but the history of mankind doing inhuman things to one another never changes. But it can ! Everyone says I'm just one person . What can I do? John Lennon sang -we all know people are the same wherever we go. John was right! I have been fortunate to meet folks from all over the world and we are all the same. We all want good health, happiness and peace of mind. Internet radio gives us the opportunity to share the universal language of music and to share universal messages. The lyrics of songs reflect the mood of the times and the culture in which they were produced. Folk songs and ballads are made to teach. Love songs to invoke deep feelings. Nonsense songs just for fun! Regardless of the genre songs are made to be enjoyed and bring a moment of peace in our minds. The power of song combined with the Internet can change the world. At MetroCities Radio we choose to focus on the fun times of the sixties and seventies to bring back good memories and introduce the fun side of this period of history to folks who have not heard it before. You as an individual have to power to change a little piece of the world by practicing The Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be honest in all of your affairs, treat everyone you meet with respect and be of good cheer. Let us hope a Deja'vu forty years from now will bring good health, happiness, peace of mind and good music to everyone on our planet. After all, we the people here don't want no war. Toastmasters International empowers people

By: Rick Hays

(WRTRO) Retro 24.7 Radio 60's,70's and ( WROCK ) Planet 70's,80's,90's Rock Radio are great Internet Radio stations. Our broadcasting methods at MetroCities Communications are like nothing else you hear on the Internet or other broadcasting mediums. We have a fantastic trio of broadcasters. Dave Anthony, president and owner of MetroCities Communications parent company of stations ( WRTRO )and ( WROCK ). Rick Martin MetroCities Communications, Assistant Music Director /Staff Announcer for stations ( WRTRO )and ( WROCK ) , Jim Tudor MetroCities Communications Promotions Director / Assistant Music Director for stations ( WRTRO )and ( WROCK ) , who each contribute their own expertise to make this formula work. Each one got their talents from a wide variety of sources and exposures.

Two of the three, Rick Martin and Jim Tudor, are great individuals who met in, and got great training from , Toastmasters International. They met over 5 years ago as members of http://www.d13tm.com or District 13 Toastmasters. What is Toastmasters? It is an 80+ year old organization which helps individuals from all walks of life gain expertise in leadership, communications, and public speaking. District 13 is part of the worldwide Toastmasters International(http://www.toastmasters.org/) who's Presidential theme for 2005-2006 relates to our fine stations. That fine challenge from Toastmasters International President Dr. Dilip Abayasekara is to "Find Your Voice. Serve Your World." By the way, that is something our stations have done since day one. I urge all ezine viewers and participants to also join in and participate with the Toastmasters International experience. What it can do for you is best described through the Organizational Vision. It's Deja'vu Oh My ! Commentary that gives comparisons, not opinions.

By: Jim Tudor

In the news---------Raging Grannies arrested for anti-war protests in Tuscon .Arizona Pittsburgh Pa police use mace and attack dogs to cuff and stuff 70 year old ladies and anti-war commentaries are on TV and radio talk shows. Are these aging protestors reliving their youth ? Anti-war protests marked the 60's and 70's changing the political and music scene. Who can forget the ballads produced by legendary artists of the 60's and 70's who risked their careers for a cause they believed in? Although Rock was the rage Folk songs reflected the mood of the people and had tremendous influence on turning the tide of war. Politicians had their own axe to grind and ignored the wants of the populace. WE the People protested and forced policy changes. Is it Deja'vu all over again?

Fall is here in Northern U.S.A. The kids have gone back to school and the fun begins all over again. Football and fraternity pranks. Is that the smell of burning leaves? Perhaps a bonfire ? Oh My ! What ever it is I'm sure it will be fun and there will be some great tunes playing ! It's Deja'vu all over again !

Here at MetroCities Communications and our stations WRTRO and WROCK, our policy is always to give the people what they want, providing an eclectic mix reflecting the requests from listeners around the world .Be sure to listen daily and pass our station links http://www.wrtro.com and http://www.wrock.info along so everyone can join in the radio evolution-revolution as we evolve into a new creation revolving around great music our listeners want to hear.

Are you a Turtle?

By: Jim Tudor ( Tudor Communications )

It seems like De Jevu all over again when someone asks Are you a Turtle? Recently I say a sign outside a local tavern-soliciting members for “ The Turtle Club” In the late 60’s The Turtle Club was very popular all across America. The Turtles were and are a loosely knit group of slow moving fun seekers. In order to be a member you had to be of clean mind and correctly answer a series of fun questions to receive an official membership card. Once you had the official card you were permitted to ask fellow Turtles in public places----Are you a Turtle? A true Turtle would then answer “ You bet your sweet ass I am” as all turtles were assumed to own a Jackass. If for some reason the fellow Turtle did not give the correct response he or she was obligated to buy you a drink of your choice ! Am I a Turtle?? You bet your sweet ass I am –a very snappy one at that !

Here’s De Jevu to you !

Full Service Retro 60's & 70's Station flips format to (Retro 24.7 Radio) 60's 70's format.

By:Dave Anthony (Metro Cities Broadcasting)

Word has been buzzing around that one of Clear Channel or Infinity stations in Pittsburgh may possibly flip formats to a new hot music format called "24.7" . On Thursday September 1st at 10:35 PM it happened . MetroCities Broadcast Communications of Pittsburgh ,owner of 2 top rated Internet radio stations flipped full service flag ship station WRTRO Retro 60s & 70s to a style Retro format call Retro 24.7 60's 70's radio.
At 6:45 PM on August 31st WRTRO signed off for audio upgrades to High Definition (HD)-MP3Pro and would be back on the air in 24 hours or less. Thursday evening At 10:35 PM when the station came back on the air the full service sound of Retro 60s & 70s format sound was gone and went the way of WCBS-FM. Replaced with the new Retro 24.7 60s,70s Radio sound. Dave Anthony President and General Manager of MetroCities Broadcast Communications of Pittsburgh stated that "the new mega "Retro 24.7" 60s,70s format has been under intense development. It was a tough decision to change formats with a #1 rated station and a full service format. Times change and it was time to make that change and move with the times , industry and to develop a new innovative product that will have maximum impact for our listeners in a very positive, entertaining way and serve a larger age group up to the last of the baby boomer era . The previous retro format being full service focused on a retro 60s & 70s music style plus special programs, information and news related segments . The new format Retro 24.7 60s, 70s will not be full service and will focus on maximum music content. Dave stated that "It is an exciting new change and that the new mega music sound of "Retro 24.7" 60s, 70s format is the Internets retro "JACK" format sound.the mega music"Retro" sound is not a "JACK" Format. The difference is that the Retro 24.7 60s, 70s format will span 2 decades from the 60s to 1979 and have a completely original sound and identity of it's own . The station will retain it's current volunteer station staff of Rick Martin Assistant promotions, Assistant Music director and staff announcer. As well as Coleen Tudor, and Jim Tudor - Assistant Music Director and Promotions Director . No Call letter change from the current WRTRO calls will occur. The new Retro 24.7 60s 70s web site will remain at - http://www.wrtro.com.

Know Thy Self

Just inside the entrance of one of the great pyramids carved in stone in letters three foot tall are the words "Know Thy Self" The message was of sacred value thousands of years ago and it is just as valuable today. It's de jevu all over again. Fashion, popular beliefs, and baubles to yearn for are in constant flux. However there are some things that never change. One of these things is human nature. It is human nature to want to be happy and successful. Happiness and success are both states of mind. If you seek happiness you will be successful when you achieve it. If you seek success, it is a much more difficult beast to capture, for it is always changing. Everyone has within them, the capacity to achieve both happiness and success. How do we do it?? First of all you must define what happiness and success are.. Then you must develop a time bound plan to achieve the tasks you have identified. Happiness and success are as unique to individuals as are our fingerprints. Take some time to sit down and write what happiness and success mean to you. You will be surprised at what you discover. Once you have identified what is really important to you, you will be well on your way to achieving both happiness and success. Know thyself and to thy self be true.
You can never truly satisfy anyone but you
